A day after at least 37 CRPF personnel were martyred in a deadly terror attack in Awantipora, in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, PM Narendra Modi said the “forces behind the terrorist act will be punished.”

The Prime Minister – at the inauguration of Vande Bharat Express in New Delhi on Friday, 15 February – paid tribute to soldiers who lost their lives.

“Our security forces have been given full freedom. We have full faith in their bravery.”

“If our neighbour, which is totally isolated in the world, thinks it can destabilise India through its tactics and conspiracies, then it is making a big mistake,” Modi said.

He even thanked “all the nations who have supported India and condemned this incident in the strongest of terms. A strong reply will be given to this attack.”
