A day after formally joining the BJP, Congress veteran SM Krishna critiqued his former party on Thursday. “The Congress needs to be rebuilt from the ground to the top, but I see no seriousness in the leadership. There is no connect between the Congress leadership, and the rank and file of the party,” Krishna said.
The 84-year-old, who has formerly served as the External Affairs Minister and the Karnataka Chief Minister, said that the party had sidelined him and disrespected his presence.
“All that I wanted was respect and periodical consultations. I had never demanded any position,” he added. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Modi ji has zero tolerance towards corruption, and I was impressed with this. I also supported his demonetisation move,” Krishna said.
