One person was killed and three others injured after a fire broke out in a market in Odisha’s Rourkela on Wednesday, reported NDTV.
According to the report, the fire started at a firecrackers shop and spread through the market. The police said that the fire is likely to have started due to a short-circuit in the shop. The shop, police said, had stocked up a huge quantity of firecrackers due to Diwali.
While the fire has been doused now, three people were injured and have been taken to the hospital. The exact cause of fire will only be ascertained after an investigation is done, they added.
The Supreme Court in Delhi has banned the sale of fire crackers till 1 November. On Tuesday, at least 3 shopkeepers were arrested for selling firecrackers in the capital city.
