A leopard that was spotted entering the premises of Gujarat Secretariat early morning on 5 November has been captured by officials of the Forest Department.

CCTV footage captured the feline trespassing into the Secretariat around 1 am.

Police, forest officials and other authorities had sealed the building and conducted massive search operations to find the leopard. Entry to the building was barred until the leopard was captured. Authorities had also set up traps including cages and tranquillisers to capture it, and around 200 personnel from the forest department were brought into action to locate it.

Forest Department officials have said that the leopard will be released in the wild. It is still unclear how the leopard managed to get into the secure premises.
