Colourful notes on walls inspired by Prague's famous 'Lennon Wall' have emerged outside the Parliament in Hong Kong. These walls are plastered with the messages scribbled on sticky notes in defiance of the controversial extradition bill.
In Hong Kong the ‘Wall’ started gaining prominence following weeks of protests against the so-called fugitive bill that, if passed, would allow extradition of any suspect to China.
The original ‘Lennon Wall’ in Prague was set up in response to John Lennon’s assassination in 1980. It started expanding after someone painted Lennon’s portrait on a wall. The Wall has since been regarded as a piece of art that is dedicated to expressions for global concerns.
