In what incidentally became a rallying cry for the Lebanon anti-government demonstrations, protestors in Beirut stopped and sang the famous internet song “Baby shark” to serenade a scared toddler.

Eliane Jabbour was passing through the giant protests with her 15-month-old toddler when she started getting concerned that the chaos will frighten him. She conveyed this message to the nearby protesters too. To her surprise, the crowd surrounding the car stopped protesting, and broke into a performance - they sang and even danced to “baby shark” as little Robin looked on.

This video quickly went viral, won hearts on the internet and became a symbol for these protests and many protesting groups were seen dancing and singing to the song as a mark of protest.

According to The New York Times, the protesters have gathered on the streets, “demanding an end to chronic corruption and denouncing the government of Prime Minister Saad Hariri.”
