1. Yogi Meets Vivek Tiwari’s Family; Akhilesh & Mayawati Slam UP Govt
Kalpana Tiwari, wife of Vivek Tiwari, who was shot dead by police constables in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar, said her faith in the state government has "further strengthened" after she met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday, 1 October.
The Apple sales executive was shot dead by two police constables on 29 September, for refusing to stop during ‘routine checking’.
Meanwhile, political slugfest over the issue continued in the state of Uttar Pradesh with former Chief Ministers Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati both training guns at Yogi Adityanath for his law and order policies.

2. Conflicting Versions of Attack on Tanushree Dutta’s Car In 2008
The war between actors Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar just gets bigger and uglier. A video has surfaced in which Dutta can be seen sitting in a car while it's being attacked by an unruly mob also consisting of media personnel.
Tanushree Dutta in an interview had alleged that, after she refused to do some intimate dance steps with Nana Patekar, he had called the MNS party to further harass her and the producers called in the media to get some publicity from the incident. There is however, a conflicting version of this story too.
According Pawan Baradwaj – one of the individuals present in the video – the media personnel were enraged after Tanushree's father had allegedly attacked a Sahara reporter.

3. Dream Projects of Hema Malini’s Adopted Village In Tatters
Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana: A government scheme wherein MPs of the Modi government would adopt villages and specifically take care of their development right from infrastructural facilities to basic necessities. What a great idea Sirji! On paper, sure. But almost 5 years after the scheme was launched in 2014, the situation of these villages adopted under the scheme is nowhere close to an adarsh gaon.
The first such village that The Quint visited was Rawal in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, which was adopted by actor-politician Hema Malini. Watch The Quint’s ground reports from many such villages.

4. Dipak Misra’s Last Address as Chief Justice of India
Outgoing Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra held court, along with his successor Ranjan Gogoi, for the last time on Monday, 1 October.
Addressing the event, CJI-designate Gogi said he had a lot to look forward to, while praising his predecessor as a ‘remarkable judge’.
At his farewell ceremony, Misra was seen seated alongside Gogoi and Attorney General KK Venugopal.

5. Khanduri Sacked: Is There a Link with the Ailing Armed Forces?
BC Khanduri was sacked as the Chairman of the Defence Standing Committee. The veteran BJP leader was replaced by Kalraj Mishra.
In the history of Parliament, this is probably the first time that a committee’s president was removed before the completion of his/her tenure. Usually, their term ends with the term of Lok Sabha.
