1. Monsoon Session: Lok Sabha to Discuss No-Trust Motion on Friday

The Lok Sabha will take up the debate on Opposition-sponsored no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government brought by the TDP and Opposition parties, with Speaker Sumitra Mahajan admitting the notice.

"The House will take up the debate (on the motion) on Friday, 20 July. The discussion will be held for the full day, followed by voting on it," Mahajan announced in the House when it reassembled after the lunch break on the first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Earlier, the Speaker had announced that she would announce the date for the debate in 2-3 days. During Zero Hour, she had named all members from TDP, Congress and NCP, among others, who had moved similar no-confidence motion notices and said TDP's Kesineni Srinivas would move his motion as his party was the first to raise it.

2. Greater Noida Building Collapse: At Least 5 Dead, 3 Held as Rescue Op Underway

At least five bodies have been recovered from Greater Noida’s Shah Beri village, where a six-storey building fell on an adjacent four-storey building late on Tuesday, 17 July.

Eighteen families lived in the four-storey building in UP’s Gautam Budh Nagar district. Three arrests have been made in connection with the incident as of Wednesday morning.

3. RaGa Shares Agnivesh’s Assault Video With a “Who Am I?” Quiz Jibe

A day after Swami Agnivesh was assaulted by a mob belonging to the BJP-affiliated youth groups in Jharkhand, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to share the video of the attack. The 79-year-old was seen being slapped, kicked around and verbally abused in Pakur town.

In a “pop quiz” titled “who am I?” the Congress chief launched a veiled attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as many on Twitter pointed out.

4. RJ Malishka Takes a Dig at BMC Again in New Mumbai Rain Parody

Last year RJ Malishka’s parody on the Mumbai rains went viral. ‘Mumbai Tula’ picked on BMC for never being monsoon-ready and Mumbaikars paying the price for it. While BMC understandably didn’t take it well, the janta absolutely loved it.

And now Malishka is back with yet another monsoon song titled ‘Mumbai Geli Khadayat’ (Mumbai has gone down the drain), in which she talks about the Mumbai rains, the city drowning and the ever rising number of potholes. And to make sure it’s popular, the song is set to the tune of the superhit ‘Zingat’ from Sairat.
