Meet Pankaj Jha and his friends. Pankaj is currently pursuing his PhD in Delhi and has translated several songs to Sanskrit. It’s astonishing how beautifully he sings a popular song of the 90’s film – ‘Aashiqui’ in Sankrit – Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aana.
The significance of Sanskrit in Pankaj's life was limited to just reading and teaching but a small incident changed his outlook towards the language.

2. Valentine’s Day: How Right-Wing Groups Plan to Spoil Celebrations
Different groups in India see the occasion of Valentine’s Day as a threat to Indian culture. The Bajrang Dal, famous for holding protests and getting aggravated about the day of love, has continued its ritual to try and stop couples from celebrating Valentine’s Day this year as well.
This time, it is asking restaurants and pubs in Hyderabad not to hold any special events for the occasion.
Similarly, other Hindutva outfits like the Hindu Mahasabha and Shiv Sena have their own plans of trying to stop couples in the country from celebrating Valentine’s Day, in order to “save” Indian culture.

3. Big Moments: India’s Historic Win Over South Africa in 5th ODI
India won an ODI series in South Africa for the first time, clinching a piece of history with a 73-run victory in the fifth game on Tuesday to lead 4-1 overall with one match left.
India's win was set up by 115 from opener Rohit Sharma – his first significant score of the tour – and sealed by wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, the standout bowlers in the series and constant thorns in the side of the South African batsmen.
India's first success in an ODI contest in South Africa also came with a game to spare. The tourists could stamp their dominance even further with a potential 5-1 win over the team that was ranked Number 1 at the start of the series.

4. Punjab National Bank Reveals Rs 11,292 Crore Fraud in Mumbai
Punjab National Bank, India's second-largest state-run bank, reportedly detected a USD 1.8 billion (approx Rs 11,292 crore) fraud at a single branch in Mumbai. The bank has reportedly suspended 10 officials in connection with the case, reported ANI.
In a statement on Wednesday, 14 February, the bank said that it has detected fraudulent & unauthorised transactions "for the benefit of few select account holders with their apparent connivance" in India's financial hub.
