1. CBI Infighting Row: Officers Sent Marching as Govt Cracks Whip, Former Director Alok Verma Moves Court for Relief
Top Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials are at war after bribery allegations surfaced against Special Director Rakesh Asthana. In a midnight move, the Government of India issued a notification which sent CBI Director Alok Verma, along with Asthana, on temporary leave.
Verma moved the Supreme Court against the Centre’s decision on Wednesday, 24 October. The matter will be heard on Friday, 26 October.
A Delhi court had on Tuesday had allowed the CBI to quiz in custody for seven days its Deputy Superintendent of Police Devender Kumar, who has been arrested in connection with bribery allegations involving the agency's Special Director Rakesh Asthana.

2. Virat Kohli Becomes the Fastest Cricketer to Score 10,000 ODI Runs
Virat Kohli on Wednesday, 24 October, became the fastest cricketer to cross the 10,000-run mark in the One Day Internationals (ODIs). The India captain reached the milestone in just 205 innings – 54 innings less than the now second-fastest, Sachin Tendulkar.
Kohli became the 13th cricketer and fifth Indian to achieve the feat during India’s second ODI against the West Indies at Visakhapatnam. Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni are the only other Indian cricketers to have reached this milestone in their careers.

3. Smriti Irani’s ‘Bloody Pads’ Comment Draws Social Media Flak, She Later Calls it ‘Fake News’
Amid protests against the Supreme Court order opening the Sabarimala temple in Kerala to women of all ages, Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday, 23 October, said the right to pray did not mean the right to desecrate, reported PTI.
It is plain common sense. Would you take sanitary napkins seeped in menstrual blood into a friend’s home? You would not. And would you think it is respectful to do the same thing when you walk into the house of God? So that is the difference. I have a right to pray, I have no right to desecrate. Irani also said her statement was being used as a bait against her, and that she hasn’t found any person who “takes a blood-soaked napkin to ‘offer’ to any one let alone a friend”.

4. Soni Razdan’s #MeToo Moment and Why She Didn’t Report
Actor Soni Razdan who has been a part of the film and television industry for years now opened up about her #MeToo moment. She told The Quint that she has been very lucky that she has't faced sexual harassment when she approached somebody for work but she did face it in other ways.
Like there was an incident that happened to me when I was on a film shoot and somebody tried to rape me, for example that kind of thing. Luckily they didn’t succeed.Soni Razdan, Actor
She never reported the incident that time because she didn’t want his family to go through the trauma of knowing about his actions. But she adds that if it would have happened in today’s times, she would have complained.
