Police booked some Youth Congress activists who allegedly butchered a calf in public to protest against the Centre's ban on sale of cattle for slaughtering, as the incident drew flak from various quarters.
Kerala BJP President Kummanam Rajasekharan, who posted the gory video on Twitter, called it "cruelty at its peak".
He said no normal person can behave in this manner. CPI(M) MP MB Rajesh said the illogical form of protest should have been avoided and that it would only help the Sangh Parivar.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to condemn the butchering of a calf in public allegedly by some Youth Congress members in Kerala to protest against the government's move to ban sale of cows for slaughter.
Shashi Tharoor also backed his party vice-president’s view.
