Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, newly elected Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a dig at Congress Vice President and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav. The priest-politician noted that “he is a year junior to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, and a year senior to Akhilesh Yadav.”He then, almost in a tone of a notoriety, suggested that his ‘in-between’ age could have led to the downfall of the alliance.
Later, senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the UP CM “must act in a manner that befits a CM.”
Yogi, who later met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, said that the PM has set a global record in good-governance, and is cited in elections across the world. Praising the government’s demonetisation move, he said that the radical step had been steered under the guidance of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
He further declared that the state government will indulge in inclusive politics, and not work specifically for a caste or community.
