Bengaluru’s citizens are regular victims of the toxic lakes in the city and the Bellandur lake’s latest episode is hardly new to them.

Forced to stay indoors because of the toxic foam, the residents are now up in arms, demanding that it is high time something be done. Speaking to ANI, one resident said:

With kids its even tougher to step out; either something has to be done or we’ll have to leave the place.

Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, meanwhile, said that the government was taking the necessary steps to manage the frequent frothing situation.

Acknowledging the problem, he said: “It is there, it will be solved within 1 or 2 years. Government is taking all necessary actions.”
