A loving father has put technological advancements to good use by creating a 3D printed prosthetic arm for his four-year-old son who was born without a hand.

Thirty-three-year-old Michael Campos decided to learn more about the use of 3D printing after his son Carter asked him for a hand. With the help of a volunteer group, Campos created an artificial arm for his son which cost just $10.

Last year, when Carter asked me ‘Daddy will you build me a hand’, I felt so helpless not being able to do it at the time and promised him that one day I’d be able to make one.

Since then, the father-son duo has created numerous theme-based arms – from Captain America to Iron Man. They have also set up their own company, ‘Claws from Carter’, which provides prosthetic arms to kids across the US and the UK.
