Unusual megaliths were discovered at Mokhnataya mountain in Russia’s Altai territory. As footage from Sunday shows, the stones resemble several legendary creatures like a griffin and a dragon.
Researcher Aleksander Peresyolkov who discovered the megaliths in 2013 together with his son Ruslan, believes that theses rocks couldn’t occur naturally due to smoothly outlined forms. He believes that they could be ancient sculptures created by early men.
When we find such objects that do not fit our understanding, we’re left wondering how come these constructions can appear in the Stone Age if the technologies they require seem complex even for our civilization.Aleksander Peresyolkov, Researcher
Peresyolkov highlights the megaliths' "extraordinary degree of preservation” adding they are likely to extend under the ground. The precise age of the megaliths is unknown.
