A 40-year-old woman, Manisha Bhoir, was crushed to death by a speeding private bus after she fell off a two-wheeler that hit a pothole during heavy rains in Kalyan, Thane on 7 July. The CCTV footage of the same has now surfaced.

Manisha Bhoir worked at a school in Kalyan and was heading home. CCTV footage captures her riding pillion on a bike while holding up an umbrella due to heavy rains. Manisha and her co-rider were thrown off after the bike skidded over a pothole on the flooded road.

The rear wheels of a speeding bus ran over Manisha. While her co-rider and passers-by rushed to pull her out, the bus inched forward and crushed her. She died on the spot.

Following heavy showers for three days in a row, water-logging was reported in several low-lying areas like Dadar, Parel, Sion, Andheri & Ghatkopar. Flood-like situation was reported in Vasai and Thane. Visuals from across the city showed extreme water-logging on roads and rail tracks with the rain showing no signs of abiding.
