A BHU professor, Dr Vijaynath Mishra, has developed a website blocker that will not only block pornography, violence, and vulgar content, but will also play devotional songs if you try to load such websites. He calls his application, ‘Har Har Mahadev’.
He says that it has a pan-religious appeal and songs from all religions will be played. Moreover, the app will be regularly updated with new devotional songs.

"We have developed the website blocker and internet filtering services, so one can surf safely without any fear of opening adult or objectionable sites," said Dr Vijaynath Mishra of IMS-BHU's neurology department.
It took Mishra six months to complete the app.
Benaras Hindu University has not officially adopted the tool, but the institute's medical superintendent OP Upadhyay appreciated the move. He told ANI, "It will help curb the corrupted mentality being spread in society. This is the land of Madan Mohan Malviya."
