A gunman opened fire at a building, housing the office of The Capital Gazette, a local newspaper at Annapolis in Maryland, USA, killing at least five people.
The Police have taken a suspect into custody. They have not revealed his name and have not been able to ascertain his motive.
This was a targeted attack on the Capital Gazette that is located at 888 Bestgate Road on the first floor. He(the supect) entered the building with a shotgun. We are working on securing his residence. He does live in the state of Maryland. Krampf also said that The Capital Gazette had been at the receiving end of threats on social media.
Phil Davis, a crime reporter with The Capital Gazette was in the building at the time of the incident. He tweeted about his harrowing experience.
First responders reached the location within a couple of minutes and prevented further loss of life.

US President Donald Trump also expressed his condolence through Twitter.
The Maryland incident is another in a long list of gun related violence that has plagued the US in the recent years.
