1. DUSU Elections Results: NSUI Bags Posts of President, Vice President
For the first time since 2012, NSUI has bagged the post of the president in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections.
NSUI's Rocky Tusheed has won the President's position in the Delhi University Students' Union elections.
After a long spell of about 5 years, NSUI bagged both president and vice president posts, pushing RSS-backed ABVP to the boundaries of DU.
2. Shinzo Abe Visit Live: Japan’s PM, Modi Visit Sabarmati Ashram
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has arrived in Ahmedabad to attend the 12th India-Japan Annual Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, breaking protocol, received Abe in Ahmedabad.
The two leaders began the 8-km-long roadshow to Sabarmati Ashram. They will also lay the foundation stone for the bullet train on Thursday.
3. Gauri Lankesh’s Murder Could Have a ‘Personal and Financial Angle’
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is focusing on the involvement of Naxals and members of the far-right wing in the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh. But it is now gradually veering around to focus on “personal and/or financial reasons” behind the elimination of Gauri.
Investigators are still in the process of gathering documents related to properties which are in the name of Gauri Lankesh’s 75-year-old mother Indira. The bungalow where Gauri lived is on a 30/40 feet plot of land, which is said to be valued at about Rs 2.5 crore.

4. South Asian Digital Media Awards: The Quint Wins 3 Gold, 2 Silver
We at The Quint are a very, very happy lot today! We gained big recognition for our work at the South Asian Digital Media Awards 2017 in Chennai, where we won three Golds and two Silvers. The awards, presented by the World Association of Newspaper and Publishers (WAN-IFRA), recognises digital media and mobile-first publishers.
The five awards The Quint took home are:
1. Gold for Best Use of Online Video for Mannequin Challenge: Raped, Attacked and Molested.
2. Silver for Best Use of Online Video for Acid: The Story of a Beautiful Woman.
3. Gold for Best Data Visualisation for Modi@3: Only 1/10th of Ganga Clean-Up Budget Spent So Far.
4. Gold for Best Innovation for IPL 2017 microsite.

5. Apple iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus Launched, Coming to India on 29 Sept
At a gala event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, Apple CEO Tim Cook took the wraps off the latest offering from Apple – the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
Prices in India for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus start at Rs 64,000 and Rs 73,000 respectively. Both phones will be available starting 29 September.
As always, Apple reserved their best for the last as the 10th anniversary edition iPhone X was also launched at the event. You can read more about the iPhone X here.
