After suffering burns up to 80 percent on her body, spending five years in coma and living without eyesight for nine years, it was Pramodini aka Rani's courage that has brought her here at this point in her life.

Pramodini got engaged on Valentine's Day (14 February). His fiancé, Saroj Sahu has been helping her for many years. Their friendship has now evolved into love.

Pramodini’s loved ones call her ‘Rani’. A man attacked her with acid when she was 16 years old. Rani says that she and Saroj met in 2014, while she was in the hospital.

Saroj has helped me both, emotionally and financially. Our friendship gradually became stronger. He proposed to me on 14 February 2016. I said no, because I did not want to get married.

I could not see as I had lost my vision. So I decided that I will not get married until my vision is restored. I did not want to be a burden on anyone by getting married. But now, I consider myself beautiful. It’s the heart that matters.
