59 Constituencies, 7 States: Key Stats of Lok Sabha Polls Phase 6

979 candidates from 56 constituencies across 7 states will test their fate in phase 6 of the polls on 12 May.

A total of 59 constituencies across seven states will vote in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, 12 May. A total of 979 candidates across the constituencies are in the fray.

Here is a look at some key statistics from the phase 6 of the LS polls:

Candidates With Criminal Records

At least 189 out of 967 candidates have criminal cases against them.

  • BJP: 26
  • Congress: 20
  • BSP: 19
  • Shiv Sena: 5
  • Independent: 34

Crorepati Candidates

There are at least 311 (32 percent) candidates who have assets worth Rs 1 crore or more.

  • BJP: 46
  • Congress : 37
  • BSP: 31
  • AAP: 6
  • Independent: 71

There are 69 candidates who have not declared their PAN details.

In addition to the 59 constituencies that will vote on 12 May, re-polling will be held in 168 booths in 26 Assembly segments under the Tripura West parliamentary constituency.

The polls were originally held for the constituency in the first phase on 11 April, but voting in the this particular constituency was declared void by the Election Commission.

Counting for all the phases will be conducted on 23 May.
