The Sonakshi Sinha starring comedy Khandaani Shafakhana released in theatres on 2 August and the first public reactions are now in. While audiences appreciated the film’s message, promoting sex education and going against the taboo, most felt the film fell flat because of the script and direction. The film just wasn’t entertaining enough. While some appreciated Sonakshi in the lead role, almost everyone loved rapper Badshah in his acting debut. However, the viewers were disappointed his role wasn’t bigger.

Khandaani Shafakhana is about a young woman (Sonakshi) who is forced to run a clinic that prompts her to talk to men about sex and sexual disorders, a topic that is a taboo in small cities. Badshah, who is a patient of hers, plays a Punjabi rapper in the film. With his and Varun Sharma’s help, Sonakshi urges people to talk about sex and sexual disorders freely and openly.
