During the event, Abhishek Kapoor spoke about why he made this film. He said:

There was a big devastation in Uttarakhand that affected many people and I read about it and went there, met the people there and I realised I found India. I found stories of Indians that all of India needed to hear. And I thank god for letting me be the one who tells this story. While I was researching about the victims of the floods and their loved ones, and the struggle they went through, I thought it was important that we, as outsiders see that too. If I can get people to see and understand the pain and struggle undergone by these individuals, I will feel like I contributed to society by showcasing these stories on film.

When asked about the BJP trying to ban the film on the grounds of “love jihad”, producer Ronnie Screwvalla said:

Till date, nobody has approached us. All these controversies always start before the movie, I don’t see how people form opinions out of a second 60-second trailer. We will be happy to get feedback once the movie releases.

I don’t know how I have done in this film. But I don’t know how I would do anything without Sushant. There were days I was nervous and scared. He was always there.

She further said that she didn't need any acting advice from her star parents because she always had the support of director Abhishek Kapoor.

Sara Ali Khan admitted she is in awe of Kareena Kapoor’s professionalism “I think Kareena is extremely professional. The way she does her work, it’s amazing. So I would want to imbibe her professionalism,” Sara told the press.
