Kangana Ranaut held a special screening of her film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi for school students in a Mumbai theatre on Wednesday 6 February 2019. The crowd of enthusiastic kids welcomed Kangana with Manikarnika masks and signs. Kangana addressed the audience before the screening and awarded trophies out to children who participated in a Manikarnika poster making contest. She gladly took pictures with the kids and watched them perform poems and songs.

In her introduction, Kangana spoke about passing the message of patriotism on to the next generation and how important it was for her as a director to make a film that would cater to children. She noted that some of her past roles may not have been suitable for young kids.

Later, Kangana addressed the media and answered questions regarding Manikarnika co-director Krish and actor Mishti Chakraborty’s complaints about her alleged behaviour. She also lashed out against Bollywood in general for not supporting her and the film.
