Jinder Mahal is set to make his WWE debut in India on 9 December at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi, in a fight against the legendary Triple H.

While speaking to The Quint, Mahal said that he is the ‘Mordern Day Maharaja’ because he is the future and Triple H is the past.

Mahal said that Triple H is an experienced campaigner and that experience can make him dangerous.

However, Mahal is confident that he can take down Triple H with the support of the 1.3 billion people of India.

While speaking about the WWE event to IANS, Mahal said:

The WWE Live event in India is a very special moment for me. I will be taking on Triple H in what is possibly the biggest match of my career in front my home crowd and I couldn’t be more excited or determined to triumph for the people of India.

Triple H had some kind words for Jinder Mahal. He said that the the Indo-Canadian wrestler has re-invented himself.

Jinder Mahal has done an amazing job in re-creating himself. Jinder was in WWE for the first time and wasn’t as successful as he would have wanted. But he went back and re-energised himself, dug deeper (within) himself and worked extremely hard in his second chance and is now making the most of it. People can criticise him, but he has earned my respect.

When Triple H was asked why there hasn’t been many WWE stars from India, he said:

The WWE hasn’t presented the right pathways. If you were an athlete in India and you watch WWE and thought you really wanna do this, the pathway wasn’t clear. How would you become a WWE superstar nobody really knew.
