A 10-month-old boy in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh died in the hospital as he was allegedly refused the injections he required, till his parents paid a bribe to the employees.
The hospital has denied the allegations but ordered an inquiry into the matter, while also sacking one of the alleged bribe-takers.
Sumita and Shiv Dutt brought their son Krishna to the children’s ward at the biggest government hospital, with high fever and weakness. Each staff member demanded a bribe in exchange for treating Krishna. He was given a crucial injection too late and died soon after.
