Founder of the Shillong Chamber Choir, Neil Nongkynrih has given the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Neil Nongkynrih, mentor and founder of Shillong Chamber Choir has been conferred the Padma Shri Award by the President of India.

The choir shot to fame after it won the reality talent show, India’s Got Talent in October 2010, on Colors TV and since then has performed extensively in India and toured Europe, the UK, Canada, North America and South East Asia. The choir has also received several accolades.
