1. Ex-BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha Joins Cong, to Fight From Patna Sahib

Disgruntled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Shatrughan Sinha on Saturday, 6 April, officially joined the Congress party and will fight from Bihar’s Patna Sahib seat from where he has been an MP twice but was denied a BJP ticket this year. He will be pitted against Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

2. From Governor to Transferring Officers: Election Commission of India Acts on Violations

The EC issued a censure letter to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath over his 'Modi ki Sena' remark. The Commission has advised him to be more careful in future, being a senior political leader. Yogi Adityanath is not alone. On Friday night, the Election Commission of India handed out notices and issued transfer orders to officials violating the Model Code of Conduct. 3. This Elections, Don’t be a WebQoof!

Several photos and videos from Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s pre-nomination roadshow in Kerala’s Wayanad have been doing the rounds on social media, with the claim that Pakistani flags were raised during the event. While the photos and videos doing the round are not doctored, the claims are incorrect.

The flags seen during Gandhi’s rally are not Islamic flags, nor are they Pakistani flags. They belong to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a state political party in Kerala. Read full story here.
