Nitin Malik, the lead vocalist of Parikrama, a Delhi-based rock and roll band, pays tribute to the legendary John Lennon, member of iconic English rock band The Beatles, and arguably one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time.
Born on 9 October, 1940 in England, John Winston Lennon rose to fame with The Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. Lennon formed a successful songwriting partnership with bandmate Paul McCartney, resulting in many No. 1 hits. He embarked on a solo career in the ‘70s and became a political and peace activist, with some of his later songs becoming anti-war anthems.
Lennon was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, as a member of the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1994.
