Junaid was stabbed to death and two of his brothers were severely injured in an altercation on a Delhi-Mathura train on 22 June. The victims was returning home to Khandawali village in Faridabad, Haryana after shopping for Eid.

The fight, according to reports, started over a train seat. But Junaid’s death could possibly be another casualty over beef rumours. One of injured brothers said the attackers allegedly passed slurs against them, calling them “anti-nationals” and “beef-eaters”.

It has been five days since the incident. His mother, Saira, sits on a bed praying and hoping that she gets justice.
