After Narendra Modi, in a surprise address to the nation, declared that all 500 and 100 rupee notes will be scrapped, the nation went into a tizzy. Modiji informed that the new demonetisation policy was aimed at effectively putting an end to black money and cornering scamsters. But with just 4 hours for the notes to become obsolete, people thronged ATMs, lined up at petrol pumps, and even hospitals. But what about those people whose daily life involves cash-only transactions?

We decided to visit Chawri Bazar and Sadar Bazar in old Delhi, two of the largest wholesale retail markets in the national capital region, where traders have been dealing in cash for ages.
