Hillary Clinton said she's "encouraged" by the Iraqi-led offensive to retake the city of Mosul but it will be a "hard fight."
The democratic presidential nominee was speaking in Las Vegas at the final debate with her Republican rival Donald Trump ahead of the election.
Donald Trump said it was only an issue because the Obama administration – and Clinton while at the State Department – pulled troops from Iraq in the first place.
He added that the only reason US troops were involved in the retaking of Mosul was because "Hillary was running for President."
The Republican nominee said the big winner of the retaking of Mosul would "be Iran" and branded America's nuclear deal with Iran as the "stupidest deal of all time"
Clinton responded by reiterating her accusation that Trump supported the US invasion of Iraq.
