Apple, who is facing declining smartphone sales for the last three quarters globally, is in a sticky position with Android’s increasing popularity and cheaper alternatives available with superior hardware.

With each iPhone sold, Apple makes a staggering 130 percent profit. If they are serious about penetrating India, the world’s second largest mobile phone market, then they must consider reducing their profit margin and increasing distribution to reach more customers. But from the launch price of Rs. 60,000, it appears Apple is pretty set in its stubborn ways and would rather opt for the high profit margin and sell less phones, than make less profit and sell a higher number of devices.
