Spirited Young Syrian Refugees Groove to Bollywood Numbers

They know their Bollywood just as well as you do!

These little girls are children of Syrian refugees stuck in Greece. And though the road ahead of them is hard, their joie-de-vivre – visible in their love for Bollywood music – is almost palpable.

While it is a well-known fact that the Syrians have been pushed out of their homes because of the conflict between ISIS and the Syrian govt forces, these children are not yet out of peril. Yet they choose to be happy and it is a delight for Indians that it is Indian films, film stars and Bollywood numbers that bring smiles to these children’s faces.

These spirited little girls move to Bollywood numbers. They groove and sing along to famous Hindi songs like zara sa jhoom from DDLJ.

Months ago, at least 28 people were killed in an airstrike that hit a refugee camp in northern Syria near the border with Turkey, according to pro-opposition activists.
