Sheroes Hangout is an initiative by the Stop Acid Attacks campaign that was founded in New Delhi in 2013. Run by four acid attack survivors, this café provides these women with an opportunity to lead a normal life and earn a living for themselves and their families.
The walls of the café proudly display photos of acid attack survivors in designer ware. The café serves food and beverages, but the menu card mentions no prices. You pay as much as you want.
The café stands for the collective aspirations of these brave survivors, who have overcome insurmountable odds, with little or no government aid, and are now pursuing their dreams.
The Quint salutes these daring Sheroes!
