15-Year-old Neelam (name changed) had barely recovered from an earlier incident of sexual violence, when the same juvenile who purportedly raped her in March barged into her home in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun.
The juvenile had recently served his sentence at a remand home, after local police filed a case of rape, and then changed it to an incident of mere molestation. In the four months that the juvenile spent at the remand home, Neelam’s family ran from pillars to post in their bid to bring justice to their violated daughter.
On Wednesday, even as she resisted her 17-year old tormentor, she was stripped, raped and even bruised with a sharp knife. The girl’s mother says that on returning from a distant village, she found her daughter lying on the floor, fresh from the second episode of horror that the young boy had unleashed on her.
Local police say they have now launched fresh investigations into the matter.
