Jammu region was rocked by two terror attacks on Tuesday in which seven army personnel, including two Major-rank officers, were killed and eight other security men, including a BSF DIG, were injured, before six heavily-armed terrorists were killed in separate fierce encounters.
In one incident, a group of heavily-armed terrorists in police uniform stormed an army unit in Nagrota, about three kms from the Corps headquarters on the outskirts of Jammu city, triggering an intense gun-battle that lasted hours.

- The body of Naik Chittaranjan Debbarma was brought to Tripura on Thursday for cremation on Friday, which will take place with full state honours in his village. Debbarma is survived by his wife Namita, aged parents and two children aged 11 and 7 years. (IANS)
- The Ministry of External Affairs has said it is awaiting certain details about the Nagrota attack before it can ascertain what the next step will be. (ANI)

- Last rites of Nagrota martyr Hawildar Sukhraj Singh were held with full state honours in his home town of Batala. He is survived by wife Harmeet Kaur, mother Swanjeet Kaur, elder brother Dhanrah Singh, seven-year-old daughter Subhpreet and five-year-old son Sargundev Singh. (PTI)
