Alicia Vikander is taking over Angelina Jolie’s screen character, Lara Croft, 15 years after Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’s release.
The makers of the video game-turned-film dropped the official trailer of the film, and it’s looking like a real treat for fans of the action-adventure. Vikander’s character is seen doing everything; taking on her very first adventure with full gutso, jumping into the stormy sea, fighting the bad guys and basically saving all of humanity.
Take a look at the trailer:
Tomb Raider is reportedly an origin story, following the story of Lara finding out the truth behind her father’s death. With clues left behind for her, Lara the treasure hunter must locate a hidden tomb and close it to save the human race.
He has left behind clues for her, which take her to a strange island. There, Lara must locate a hidden tomb, and close it forever.
The cinematic reboot is directed by Roar Uthaug of Django Unchained fame and also stars Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu.
Tomb Raider releases on 16 March 2018.
