Most Reliance Jio 4G Users Willing to Pay for Jio Prime This April

The telecom operator will start charging for its 4G internet in the country from 1 April onwards.

At least 84% of current Jio users are expected to subscribe to its Prime membership in April, a survey conducted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch found.

This survey was taken by 1,000 Jio users, 70% of them will be willing to opt for the Rs 303 Jio Prime offer.

The report stated that the proportion of users that suggest Jio is (for the moment) their primary SIM has increased (compared to a December survey) from 50% to 66%.

Awareness of Jio Prime offer is high (90%) and 96% suggest they will pay for Jio (84% through the Prime offer, and 12% on non-Prime plans)

The users who were part of the survey also think that Jio speeds are faster than other networks in the country.

They’ve also seen a marked improvement in Jio’s voice connectivity. Back in December, 34%of users complained of call failures but that number has come down to 19% as per the report.

These numbers could make a difference to Reliance Jio’s fortunes in the country. After doling out free internet services to consumers, Jio will finally start charging for its 4G internet, while the voice calls continue to remain free.
