If you are one of those lucky customers who are happily enjoying the many perks of Reliance Jio with its high-speed 4G data, video calls and free movies from the Jio Bundle, this news might come as little bit of a speed-breaker for you.
Jio customers may have to check their inbox again for a harbinger of bad news in the form of a text message asking for verification. They are being informed that their number might be discontinued since they have not provided sufficient details to Jio.
The message further adds that if one wishes to continue using their Jio SIM card, they are required to visit the nearest Reliance Store centre for finger-print verification.
The user is expected to complete this verification within two days of receiving the text. or their services would be discontinued.
But Why This Verification if Aadhaar Card Was Used for Issuing SIM?
When The Quint asked the customer care about the need of this verification when the SIM cards had been issued based on an Aadhaar card, they failed to provide an answer. This doesn’t seem like the best news for those users who have already gone through the hassle of standing in long queues for hours to get the SIM in the first place.
No Use Turning to Customer Care for Help
They will fail to provide an answer and will ask you to visit the Reliance Store to get the problem fixed. Till then, your number is in their deletion list.
