Dell is known for making quality laptops that are liked by users across sections. But, Dell products are rarely considered to be at par with Apple’s Macbook or other high-end Windows PCs.

With the XPS 13 series, Dell has tried changing the script. There’s a lot to like about the XPS 13. But like all good things in life, the XPS 13 comes at a price (we tried out the top model).

What’s Good?

The Dell XPS comes with a display that no other company has managed to offer. It comes in an 11.6-inch form size but the display measures at 13.3-inch because of which the laptop has an almost zero bezel (as you can see below). The touch-friendly display is icing on the cake.

The display has a resolution of 1440 pixels. Watching movies, playing games or just browsing the web is a visual treat on this laptop. The colours are bright, the content looks sharp and crystal clear.

It’s hard to miss the quick boot time of the Dell XPS 13. Just push the power button and you can start working in no time. This is the result of having top-end hardware. The laptop comes with a backlit, chiclet keyboard which is the norm for most high-end notebooks these days. The keys are well spaced for a smooth and error-free typing experience.

The laptop is ultraportable, weighing a meager 1.29 kg. It’s as light as it can get. It’s got multiple USB 3.0 ports that offer fast data-transfer.

The Dell XPS 13 can handle anything. Multi-tasking is a piece of cake for this powerful, compact notebook. No lags, no stutter, just a powerful performer.

And that’s not all. The Dell XPS 13 is a reliable on-the-go companion as well. The laptop manages to last over 8 hours on average-to-medium levels. It is hard to find many options in the Windows category, and barring the Asus ZenBook UX305, that are powerful workhorses.

What’s Bad?

There are a couple of things that can be added or improved on the Dell XPS 13. The almost zero bezel and touch display have not been backed by a reliable groove to open the notebook. Surely, that could have been considered when they were working on the display.

We found the trackpad to be on the clumsier side. At times, the intuitive part of the Dell XPS 13 was more confusing than helpful. This wasn’t something we expected from a high-end notebook.

Now, coming to our least favourite part of the notebook, the price! Most people would find the XPS 13 to be way above their budget.

Why Buy It?

The Dell XPS 13 is the complete package making it one of the best Windows 10 notebooks in the market. It has a slick frame with a 13.3-inch Full-HD/Quad-HD display (varies on the model) with an almost zero bezel. It is a lightweight, portable and powerful with a long lasting battery life.

It might cost you a lot, but if you’re looking to buy a top-notch Windows notebook that can give the Apple MacBook a run for its money, then the Dell XPS 13 is your best option.
