The Galaxy S9+ gets a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED 18:9 screen. The Indian variant of the Galaxy series comes with an Exynos processor with 6GB of RAM on the S9+ and storage is expandable up to 400GB.

So with the S9+ what you're seeing is the evolutionary version of the S8+. Compared to what we saw last year, this feels much more compact and the lines are more pronounced, while the design is more compact ergonomically.

In comparison to its predecessor, the biggest difference you see on the Galaxy S9+ is the vertical placement of the fingerprint sensor and the dual rear camera.

But, like every other Samsung flagship phone, it's really hard not to talk about the camera and this year Samsung has given us more reasons to do that.

The camera does see a host of new improvements and additions. Now, you get two 12- megapixel rear sensors with f/1.5 aperture which according to Samsung is good for low light photography.

You also get super slo-mo video recording option at 960 frames per second and AR emoji is an interesting addition which feels like a work-in-progress.

But as seen with previous Samsung phones, the S9+ also has the same set of issues. The battery life still remains a concern and even though the S9+ carries a 3500mAh battery pack, the Exynos processor and the 2K screen seem to be taking a toll on the battery.

The dual rear camera supports the vertical aperture, which means you can now control the amount of light captured while clicking a picture. There is no doubt that the S9+ is a workhorse. The 6.2-inch display is high in brightness and the contrast is great.

The device has strong security, thanks to the intelligent scanner which combines the iris and the face-scanning feature and allows you to unlock the device even in minimal light.

So that's the S9+ for you. A brilliant screen, powerful hardware, a capable camera but average battery life. The average battery has been a constant with Samsung, however the company seems unperturbed as their numbers do the talking. But, for Rs 67,000, the battery life ought to have gained importance, while the Exynos processor could do with more work.
