Xiaomi has given us the clearest indication as to which Mi products will be launched in the country, and which might be given a miss. According to recent media reports, the China-based brand is seriously planning to roll out the upcoming Mi 5 in India, right after its début in China later this month.
The Mi 5 is pegged to be Xiaomi’s flagship phone for 2016 and it has been a while since we’ve come across a Mi phone in the country. The company’s India head has reportedly shared the news of Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 coming to India very soon.
With the new products coming up for Xiaomi, a lot of hard work has gone in, both from the China and India teams. We are working very hard to ensure that the time gap between the two launches is reduced.Manu Kumar Jain, India Head, Xiaomi
Xiaomi has been rather quiet by its own standards, which has helped other brands from China such as LeEco, Honor and Coolpad to get moving in the Indian market. It’s good to see that Xiaomi is looking to cut down the launch time gap between China and India, which seems very much possible.
We’ve heard a lot about the Xiaomi Mi 5 which will be announced at the MWC on February 24 but most of it is yet to be officially confirmed.
As far as the rumours suggest, Mi 5 will get a 5.2-inch Quad-HD 2560x1440 pixels display, powered by Snapdragon 820 octa-core processor. On the imaging front, we’re hoping to get a 16-megapixel camera at the back, with a massive 13-megapixel snapper on the front. Well, most of the buyers in India will be hoping for Xiaomi to make this news into reality.
