Microsoft is actively working on the latest update for Windows 10 that will be rolling out sometime next year. And the biggest cosmetic change to the naked eye is the addition of a new theme that can be chosen as the default one.

The feature is already available to Windows Insider members, who got access to pre-released versions of Windows, which helps Microsoft iron out the bugs and issues in it.

In addition to this, Windows 10 will finally let you pause its consistently irritating update cycle, suited to how you want it to work.

Talking about the light theme, this is essentially the other side to the dark theme that Windows 10 got earlier, something that didn’t appeal to most of its users.

Some more tweaks have been made from the feedback that Windows team has got from its Insider community. This works in the same way as beta versions that are made available to mobile developers for Android and iOS. They have even helped users out with the steps to try out the upcoming theme.

“Now, if you choose Light under Settings > Personalization > Colors, all system UI will now be light. This includes the taskbar, start menu, action center, touch keyboard, and more.”

Windows is letting you make the decision about switching themes, which is why, once the update hits users, you won’t see the changes automatically.

“When you update to this build, your system colour won’t automatically change to the new light system color. This is because we want everything to be exactly as you left it before you did the update.”

That’s not all, users will also able to work on the same level of screen brightness, even while switching between power and battery usage. These might not be headline-grabbing features but for users, the practical sense of getting these could work for everyone.
