iPad users across the globe will be pleased to know that WhatsApp will soon be available for the device, with leaked versions of the app for the tablet spotted this week.

Lately, WhatsApp has been testing and introducing a plethora of new features on its platform, especially concerning app support on more devices and checking the spread of misinformation on its app.

The app is already working on the much-awaited iPad support that is being tested with features including Touch ID support, split-screen and landscape mode. It’s weird that WhatsApp was never launched for the most-selling tablet in the world, and it has taken this long for the version to be made available to iPad users.

Reports say that some people might be able to search for the app, but it will show as ‘not compatible’ on app store for iPad.

The app, in its beta mode, seems to be working on landscape mode, showing all options; Status, Calls, Chats and Settings.

It will be interesting to see whether the app can be made to run using the mobile number running on the iPhone, or if it will need a SIM-supported iPad device to work.

In addition to launching on the iPad very soon, WhatsApp is adding an "audio picker" feature with a new user interface (UI), allowing users to choose a total of 30 audio files to send at once. The new feature comes as part of the 2.19.89 beta update of the instant messaging app.

"WhatsApp has recently enabled the new 'audio picker' with the possibility to play the audio before sending it and to select more audio files to send," WABetaInfo reported earlier this week.

Previously, users were only allowed to send one audio file at a time on a WhatsApp chat thread. The platform also ensured that Group admins were given more control to make sure frequently forwarded messages weren’t sent to many people.
