iPhone users got the iOS 13 update last week, and are likely to get the 13.1 version sometime this week, which is going to fix minor bug issues.
But you should probably know that Facebook-owned apps like Instagram and WhatsApp are yet to support the native dark mode feature on iOS 13.
And sadly, the beta version of WhatsApp also doesn’t support the much expected feature. This has been mentioned by WABetaInfo in its blog post this week, where it hasn’t spotted dark mode option for WhatsApp, and Instagram users on iPhone are also saying the same thing.
Popular platforms like YouTube, Twitter and even Telegram already support it but WhatsApp is yet to roll out the option. We’ve been hearing the rumours since 2018 but nothing has come out of it yet.
And it seems the wait is likely to be stretched, almost to the end of the year.
This is one of the feature that WhatsApp users have been looking forward to, and it feels that the folks at Facebook are going to ensure that it works as expected on both of its products.
WhatsApp has been on a feature launch spree throughout this year. Users got access to a slew of new basic features like share Status on Facebook, hide people who share Status and many more.
Dark mode has essentially been a hit with Android users, especially with its battery saving nature. It remains to be seen when Facebook intends on rolling out the feature for its users on both Android and iOS, which now support dark mode natively.
