Dark Mode of apps have become a popular feature among smartphone users lately. So much so that Google recommends people use them for longer battery life.

Popular platforms like YouTube and Twitter already support it but WhatsApp is yet to roll out the option, and reports this week claim that users will have to wait a little longer for it.

WhatsApp in dark mode has been mooted for a while now but most reports have emerged without giving a clear timeline for its availability. According to WABetaInfo the dark mode is still in development and there’s no launch time as of now.

Dark mode essentially changes the overall colour theme of an operating system (OS) or applications to the colour black.

This is one of the feature that WhatsApp users have been looking forward to, and it feels that the folks at the Facebook-owned messaging platform are going to ensure that it works as expected.

WhatsApp has been on a feature launch spree over the past few months. Users got access to a slew of new basic features like updated emojis, stickers as well as advanced applications like WhatsApp for Business and group video calls.

Dark mode has essentially been a hit with Android users, especially with its battery saving nature. It’ll be interesting to see if iPhone users are able to get similar results with the feature when it releases in the coming weeks.
