What is Micromax upto? The guessing game has just begun.
The Indian tech major might diversify into a new range of products on April 30, 2015. The brand might jump into a new product category on April 30, 2015. Speculation is rife that the company will be adding to its existing range of smartphones, TV’s and tablets.
In the mysterious invite sent by the company, it writes ’The next smart thing is coming soon’ and has a phone, a Tablet, a TV and a question mark. This has led to speculation that the new product will be different from the range of products launched by Micromax earlier.
To further add to the buzz, the company has put out a teaser on Twitter that hints the new product might be a hybrid — a 2 in 1 product.
If Micromax does this, it would be an interesting experiment since this is the first time that the company will venture out to multi-purpose products.
Well, not really the first time.
Earlier in 2014, the company came out with the LapTab, which was a Windows and Android 2-in-1. It was powered by an AMD chipset.
Unfortunately though, the product never made it to the market since it had licensing battles with Google and Microsoft. The companies didn’t allow the LapTab to dual-boot both the operating systems.
While no one knows for sure the exact specifications of the product, many are predicting that it will be a Windows-based device with an Intel chipset.
What do you think is up Micromax’s sleeve?
