Sony to Pull Out of Indian Smartphone Market, Meeting Plan Reveals
A couple of months ago, mobile phone maker HTC packed its bags and left Indian shores for good and now its Japanese counterpart Sony has also decided to shut shop for mobiles in India and some other countries.
Sony, which has been going through a tough time with its mobile division, has laid out its plans for the future at a corporate strategy meeting.
The mobile division, which was merged with the TV, audio and camera division two months ago, has planned on pulling out of several markets to focus on a narrower client base.
These markets include India, Australia, Canada, Mexico, South America and the Middle East.

Instagram’s IGTV Now Supports Videos Shot in Landscape Mode
In yet another attempt to keep its long-video supporting IGTV feature afloat, Facebook-owned photo-messaging app Instagram has added support for videos shot in landscape mode.
"We've heard from creators who want to upload landscape videos for IGTV. Similarly, we've heard from viewers who come across landscape videos in IGTV but want to watch them in a more natural way. That's why we're announcing support for landscape videos in addition to vertical," the company wrote in a blog-post on Thursday.
