The last thing we expected was a smartphone with Pepsi’s branding all over it. But since smartphones sell like hot cakes, Pepsi probably saw an opportunity.
The phone has been launched in China for now, and hopefully we’ll be seeing it in India sometime soon as well. The smartphone is called the Pepsi P1 and will run a customised user interface called Dido over Android Lollipop. The phone has been made in China and Pepsi’s branding could help make the product successful.
So, is there something markedly different about the Pepsi P1? Not, really. It’s like any other phone that you can buy these days. But, for the price, the Pepsi P1 packs in a decent hardware package. Priced at $110 (Rs 6,600 approx) the phone comes equipped with a full-HD resolution display and a fingerprint scanner as well.
